Ervin J. Wagner, 80, passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at Serenity Home in Oregon, Illinois. Ervin was born December 27, 1933 to Ervin F. and Ardis (Reason) Wagner in Watertown, Wisconsin. He married Mary Irene Cloutier on March 16, 1955 in Dubuque, Iowa. He was manager of the Kroger Grocery Store until 1982 and finished his career with Gray's IGA until his retirement in 1999. Ervin was a deputy with the Ogle County Sherrif's Department, past member of the Police and Fire Board and past president of the Kiwanis. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary, on April 1, 2006, his son, Michael, on February 5, 2004, his sister, Shirley Taylor in October of 2006 and his brother, Roger.

Ervin is survived by ten children: Debra (Rod) Schauff of Dixon, IL, David Wagner of Rochelle, Scott (Jack) Wagner of Grand Detour, IL, Kevin (Mike Wood) Wagner of St. Petersburg, FL, Mary Beth (Mick) Metzger of Rochelle, Renee' Brown of Oregon, Suzie (Albert) Contreras of Rockford, Jeff (Angie) Wagner of Wheaton, IL, Tricia (Ralf Herrera) Wagner of Rochelle and Chris Wagner of Rockford; two sisters: Joan Filkins of Marion, IL, Sharon (Dave) Burbach of Fond da Lac, WI; two brothers-in-law: Brian (Joanne) Cloutier of Milton, WI and Mark Cloutier of Houston, TX; sisters-in-law: Carolyn (John) Cain and Denise (James) Oldfield of Deerfield, WI; 20 grandchildren: Kelly (Eric) Nault, T.J. White, Katie (Scott) Reed, McKenzie Schauff, Taylor Schauff, Marie (Thomas) Cora-Brown, Tasha (Brett) Crowley, Jessica Prater, Emily Metzger, Brett Metzger, Samantha Brown, Erin Brown, Kayla Brown, Gage Brown, Jordan Contreras, Owen Wagner, Ryan (Abi Gomez) Prough, Alex Prough, Trey Miller and Kane Wagner and 15 great grandchildren: Bryce, Bjorn, Hailey, Skylar, Cody, Tanner, Trent, Jeremiah, Gabriel, Oliver, Quinn, Kasey, Payton, Xxavier and Alexander.

The funeral service is 1:00 P.M., Monday, November 10, 2014 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 236 Kelley Drive, Rochelle with Father Johnson Lopez officiating. The visitation will be from 2:00 to 5:00 P.M., Sunday, November 9 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. Burial will follow the service at St. Patrick Cemetery in Rochelle. Memorials may be made to Serenity Hospice and Home.
