Esperanza Herrera, 72, passed away suddenly on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at her home. Esperanza was born August 8, 1943 to Jose and Virginia (Ovalle) Saucedo in Coahuila, Mexico. She married George M. Herrera on February 23, 1972 in Devine, Texas. He preceded her in death on May 30, 1994. Esperanza worked at Del Monte for several years and then at Eaton Corporation for 19 years.

Esperanza is survived by four children: Ralf (Tricia) Herrera of Oregon, Bobbie Jo (Dave) Kirk, Jerry (Sheri Frakes) Herrera and Abigail Herrera all of Rochelle; five grandchildren: Dane (Erica) Kirk, Kassanda Kirk, Reese Kirk, Alyassa Hurst and Tyler Hurst; one great- granddaughter, Allison Mary Kirk; sister, Irene (Jose) Herrera of Rochelle and three brothers-in-law: Alfredo Herrera, Pedro Sarabia and Herman Sarabia all of Rochelle.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, July 14, 2016 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 207 Kelley Drive, Rochelle with Pastor Johnson Lopez officiating. The visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, July 13 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. The burial will follow the service at St. Patrick Cemetery in Rochelle.
