Esther M. Swanson 94 of Davis Jct, IL died Friday Jan. 2, 2009 in Neighbors Nursing Home Byron, IL. She was born Oct. 28, 1914 in Holcomb, IL the daughter of Fred J. and Emma B. Poliska Schumacher. Esther married Robert M. Swanson June 16, 1941 in Iowa. He preceded her on June 18, 1976.
Esther's hobbies included gardening, baking and canning. She also enjoyed volunteering for the
United Methodist Church of Davis Jct. and the Davis Jct. Bells.

Survived by 2 daughters: JoAnne (Dennis) Shearer of Davis Junction, IL and Janice (Bill Bliss) Olson of Belvidere, IL. Granddaughters: Robin (James) Otterstein, Kimberly (Jeff) Kubly. Grandson: Ryan (Bevin) Olson. Grandson-in-law: Alan Wetzel.
Nine Great grandchildren: Taylor Moses; Brandon and Blake Wetzel; Kayla, Madison and Bailee Olson; Autumn, Tamra and Jacob Kubly.
1 Brother: Ellsworth Schumacher of Chana, IL and her triplet sister Ella Stacionis of Rockford and Lucille Bain of Davis Jct. IL. Sister-in-law Myrla Schumacher of Bryon, IL.

Esther was preceded in death by 1 Granddaughter: Tammy Wetzel. 4 sisters: Alva Peterson, Frieda Brown, Rose Terviel, and triplet sister Eva Luepkes. 6 Brothers Alfred, Ralph, Clarence, Ross, Lester, and Harold.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday Jan. 7th 11:30 a.m. at Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th Street Rochelle, IL. With visitation from 10 a.m. to service time on Wednesday at Unger-Horner. Burial will be in Trinity Memory Gardens Cemetery in Rochelle.
