Eugene J. Foss, age 79 of West Brooklyn, IL, passed away at Rochelle Community Hospital
in Rochelle, IL on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008. He was born on Aug. 31, 1929 in Oregon, IL, the son of John and Hilda (Dirksen) Foss. Gene married Beverly LaDone LaPier on Jan. 9, 1949 in Lee Center, IL. Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother: Gerald and Sister Marion Hoeinghaus. Memberships include the Mendota Moose Club, the National Farmers Organization and he was a life member of the Dixon Elks Cub. He was self employed in farming and trucking.
Survivors include his wife: Beverly of West Brooklyn; Daughter: Linda (Dean) Cater of Rochelle; 2 sons: Ron (Linda) Foss of Franklin Grove and Glen (Patricia) Foss of Amboy;
9 grandchildren: Brian, Scott, and Stacey Cater; Dustin, Alesha, Destinee and Skyler Foss;
Chad Foss and Erika Hardin and 5 great grandchildren.
Services will be held at Rochelle United Methodist Church in Rochelle, IL on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008 at 1:30 PM, with Rev. Brett Todd. Visitation will be at Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle, IL on Tuesday, Dec. 2nd from 4 to 8 PM. Burial will be at Trinity Memory Gardens. Memorials can be made to Elks Crippled Children Foundation.
