Eugene F. Zies 81 of Batavia, IL died Wednesday Nov. 25, 2009 at home. He was born Feb. 25, 1928 in Rochelle, Il the son of LeVoy F. and Amanda (Gleim)Zies. He married Peggy Marie Eckhardt on Sept. 17, 1949 in Oregon, IL.
Preceded by a daughter Barbara Dillenburg, son Jeffery "Chip" Zies, Granddaughter Jamie Lynn Dillenburg, brothers Virgil and Robert and a sister Lucille Greene.

He owned and operated Gene's Amoco Service station in Aurora, IL for 20 years until 1993. He served in the Marine Reserves.

Survived by his wife Peggy, sons Randy (Sara) Zies of Batavia and Todd (Nancy) Zies of North Aurora, IL and son-in-law Jim Dillenburg of Batavia, IL and daughter-in-law Sally Zies of Aurora, IL and Barbara Zies of Rochelle, IL
9 Grandchildren Tim Zies, Amy Zies, Ryan Zies Emily Zies, Bailey Zies, and Kennedy Zies, Julie Dillenburg, P.J. Dillenburg and Mike Dillenburg and 2 Great Grandchildren Ashley and Nicholas Stoll.
Sisters Vivian (Swede) Balch of Cortland, IL and Elaine (Jerry) Metzger of Sleepy Hollow, IL

Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m. Monday Nov. 30, 2009 at First Baptist Church in Rochelle, with Rev. Doug Cowan. Visitation will be held Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:45 also at the Church. Following the interment the ladies of the church will be serving a luncheon.

Burial will be in Trinity Memory Gardens.
