Eunice Elizabeth Eckhardt, 84, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2018 in Franklin Grove. Eunice was born on February 25, 1934 to Ulrich and Esther Wald in Nelson, Wisconsin. She married Eugene William Eckhardt on May 12, 1956 in Rochelle, IL. Eunice was a member of the Rochelle Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; sister, Marion, and brother, Rodney.

Eunice is survived by her son, David (Betsy) Eckhardt; daughter, Mary (Hoover) Mercado; grandchildren, Steve (Ann) Eckhardt, Stacey (Nick) Gilbert, Scott (Abby) Eckhardt, and Andrew and Mark Mercado; and great grandchildren, Alexis, Zachary, and Madison Eckhardt and James Gilbert.

The visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 P.M., Friday, April 6, 2018 at the Unger-Horner Funeral home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. There will be a private family graveside service at Lawnridge Cemetery.
