Evelyn Rose Beardin, 97, of West Brooklyn, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at Manor Court in Rochelle, Illinois. Evelyn was born on July 19, 1928 to Clarence and Laura (Meisel) Geuther in Mendota, IL. On September 10, 1952, she married the love of her life, Al Beardin in Rochelle. He preceded her in death on May 11, 1997.
She was a member of the Green River Saddle Club, Rock River Saddle Club and Franklin Grove Living History. She loved riding her horses, parking cars at the Lee County 4-H fair, quilting with the ladies at church, playing cards and spending time with her little dog, Corgi.
In addition to her parents and husband, Al, she is preceded in death by an infant daughter, Patricia Rose; step daughter, Judy Hanson, sons-in-law: Mike Gall and George Burkhart, and her three brothers: Clifford (May) Geuther, Ralph (Eleanor) Geuther, and Lyle (Ruth) Geuther.
She was a loving sister, mother, and grandmother. Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Karen Burkhart; step daughters: Nancy Gall and Lois Gunning; son-in-law, Butch Hanson; 11 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff at Liberty Village in Rochelle and Sanctuary Hospice for all their love and care.
Above all, Evelyn was the heart of her family—a loving sister, mother, and grandmother who will leave an indelible mark on every generation that follows.
The visitation will be from 9:00 10:20 A.M., Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 803 Paddock Avenue, Ashton. The funeral service will follow at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday with Pastor Joan Scheffler officiating. Burial is at Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Evelyn’s memory to St. John’s Lutheran Church Women’s Ministry. Visit www.ungerhorner.com to sign the online guest book.
