Obituary

Evelyn Amelia Eckhardt, age 85, died on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at the Franklin Grove Nursing Home where she resided after a long illness.
She was born in Ophir Township on April 17, 1924 to Bert and Olive (Foster) Stevenson. She attended Mendota Twp. Highschool. Married John Becker on June 14, 1942, he preceded her on July 28, 1956. She then married Milo Hibbetts on June 8, 1958 and later divorced. She married Eugene Eckhardt on September 27, 1975, he preceded her on June 13, 1990. Evelyn worked at the Del Monte cook shack, Heritage Manor Nursing Home and the Elks Club as a cook. She was preceded in death by 2 sons: John Becker Jr., and Wayne Becker; grandson: Wayne Jr.; 2 great grandsons: Mikey Olvera, and Aaron Cobb; 3 brothers: Ray, Wayne, and William; 2 sisters: Ruth Johnson, and Merna Stevens; and a son-in-law: Ron Lysland.
Survived by 7 children: Sharlene Lysland of Paw Paw, Caren (George) Cobb or Smyrna, TN, Dick (Mary Anne) Hibbetts of Cisne, IL, Tim Becker of Pheonix, AZ, Elizabeth (Darrell) Bolhous of Rochelle, Cheryl (Dean) Meyers of Worland, WY, and Roger (Carmen) Eckhardt of Las Vegas, NV.
29 Grandchildren: Judy, Linda, Kathryn, Mike, Kim, John III, Sheila, Wayne, Nick, Dave, Valerie, Katy-Marie, Reva Victoria, Jennifer, Charles, Debbie, Andrew, Rhonda, Keith, Curtis, Matt, Amie, Roger, Sabrina, Tessa, Caitlyn, Drew, Riley, and Dakota.
48 great grandchildren plus 2 expecting.
2 great great-grandchildren plus 1 expecting.
2 sisters: Dorothy Becker of Mendota, IL and Ethel Happ of La Moille
The family would like to thank the staff of Rochelle Hospital, Franklin Grove Nursing Home, and Ogle County Hospice.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at the First General Baptist Church, 508 S. 12th St., Rochelle.
Visitation will be on Saturday from 12:00 Noon to 1:45 PM prior to the funeral at the Church.
Burial at the Wisner Cemetery in Ophir Township.
