F. William Eber, age 93, passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2012 at the Swedish American Hospital. He was born on June 5, 1918 in Ohio City, OH, the son of W. F. and Anna Sineff Eber moving to Rochelle at the age of 2. Bill graduated from Rochelle Township High School in 1936 and attended the University of Illinois. Bill worked as a remodeling contractor and owned Eber Remodelers in Rochelle from1950 until his retirement. Memberships include the Rochelle United Methodist Church,
Kiwanis Club, Rochelle Chamber of Commerce, and was on the Shriners Honda Parade Patrol and also provided transportation for children and their families to the Shriners facilities. He also served on the GRECDO Board and Rochelle Community Hospital Board and was a Volunteer Fireman for the City of Rochelle. He married Signe Gurine Larsen on February 21, 1942 in Steward, IL, she preceded him on March 2, 2010. He is also preceded in death by his parents, and sister: Eloise Van Hise.
Survived by his 4 children: Marcia Lynn (Jerry) Massie of Avondale, AZ, Christine Watson of Rochelle, Steven (Sue) Eber of Fort Lupton, CO, and Melanie Eber of Westminster, CO; 5 grandchildren: David (Monica) Massie and Jennifer (Brian) Wood; Ami Watson, and Melissa (Terry) Inman, and Lars (Jennifer) Eber; 8 great grandchildren: Aley and Garrett Massie, Mathew and Katherine Wood, Alec Seebach and Hayden Inman, and Leah and Owen Eber; Sister: Mary Frooman of Highland Park, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Rochelle United Methodist Church in Rochelle on Thursday, May 17, 2012 at 2:00 PM, with Rev. Cindy Marino. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 16th at Unger-
Horner Funeral Home in Rochelle from 5 to 7 PM with a masonic service at 7pm. Burial at Lawnridge Cemetery. Memorials can be made to Rochelle United Methodist Church or to Hub City Senior Center.
