Felipa Salas Escutia, 74, passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2024 at the Franklin Grove Living and Rehabilitation Center in Franklin Grove, Illinois.  Felipa was born on August 19, 1950 to Domingo and Manuela (Granado) Salas in San Diego, Texas.  On August 19, 1976, she married Estaban N. Escutia in Rochelle. Over the years, she worked at Caron International, Eatons, Avery Dennison and Seymour Sycamore.

Felipa is survived by her husband, Estaban Escutia; seven children: Felicita (Olegario) Nambo, Patricia (Reuben) Garcia, Ricardo Martinez, Manuela (Sergio) Fulgencio, Rosari Ramos, Cristina (Lyle) Bushland and Larry (Jenn) Escutia; two brothers: Juan Salas and Domingo Salas, Jr., one sister, Maggie Perez ,15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Felipa is preceded in death by her son, Fernando Escutia.

A memorial visitation will be held from 2 P.M. to 5 P.M. on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle.  The memorial service will follow at 5 P.M. on Saturday.
