Garnet Boyer Moore, age 96, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2017 at the Franklin Grove Nursing Center with her family at her side. She was born March 10, 1921 in Marengo, IL, the daughter of John W. and Grace (Thompson) Boyer. She was united in marriage to Claude Richard Moore on July 4, 1940. She is preceded in death by her husband, Claude, two brothers, Roger Boyer and Chase Boyer; and a sister, Charlotte Eicksteadt. Prior to World War II, Garnet and Claude worked at Consolidated Aircraft in San Diego, CA. Later, she retired after twenty years at Brody's Coat Factory in DeKalb. Garnet attended St. John's Lutheran Church in Creston for the last ten years.

Garnet is survived by her children, Lester (Linda) Moore of Keota, OK and LaRonda (Roger) Thuestad of Rochelle; four grandchildren, Deanna White, Doug (Nicole) Moore, Ray Thuestad, and Pat (Paul) Juneau; eight great-grandchildren, Michelle (Chris) Pridie, Johnathan Thompson, Arianna, Samantha, and Callen Moore, Adam Thuestad, Joshua Thuestad, and Cody (Kim) Weidner; a great-great-granddaughter, Autumn Weidner; and a sister-in-law, Bernetta Boyer.

A funeral service will be at 11 A.M. Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 126 E. South Street, in Creston with Pastor Ronald Larson officiating. Visitation will be from 10 - 10:50 A.M. at the church the day of the service. Cremation rites will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
