Gary Lewis Marks, age 77, passed away on Monday, February 26, 2018 at the St. Anthony Medical Center with his family at his side. He was born on July 23, 1940 in Lansing, MI, the son of Lewis L. and Anita E. (Rathbun) Marks. Gary married Barbara J. Nelson on January 6, 1962 in Rockford, IL. Prior to retiring, he worked as a Chemical Mixologist at Viking Chemical. Gary loved spending time with his family, fishing, woodworking, antiquing and cheering on Chicago Bears. He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Christy Rhoads, and son-in-law, Brian Zuberbier.

Survived by his wife of 56 years, Barbara Marks; 2 daughters: Donna (Kevin) Evans of Rockford, and Susan (Michael Colligan) Zuberbier of Kingston; 5 grandchildren: Jessica (Matt) Evans, Samantha Rhoads, Kelsi (Nick) Peterson, Haley Zuberbier, and Dakota Zuberbier; 4 great grandchildren, and son-in-law, Mark Rhoads of Paw Paw, IL.

Memorial service will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at the Unger Horner Funeral Home, 400 N 6 ^th St., Rochelle with Pastor Heilman of the Genoa Trinity Lutheran Church officiating.
