Looking forward to Heaven, Gary Paul Reynolds passed away at home in Fountain Hills on March 15, 2014. He was born near Continental, Ohio Dec. 21, 1934 and was preceded in death by his parents, Doris Marriott Reynolds and Glen A. Reynolds.
He leaves his loving wife and partner of 44 years, Leanne Hill Reynolds; his brother, David (Angela); nephews, Mark, Scott (Jill); and niece, Heather Stone; Matthew, Jack and Annie Stone and Zoe Reynolds.
Gary was also a beloved member of the Hill family. He graduated from Continental High School in 1952. Gary was drafted into the Army in 1957 and was discharged in 1959.
Gary's entrepreneurial career was long and varied. He started and successfully operated six different businesses. He joined a Division of ServiceMaster in Geneva, Ill. which was the start of his long career in the hardwood flooring industry.
Gary was a well respected businessman who was an eternal optimist, leader, mentor and a generous, thoughtful person with a quick and witty mind. He had the gift of being able to analyze complicated business problems and, seemingly without effort, present logical solutions.
Gary inspired his colleagues to excel to their fullest potential, many of whom advanced to executive positions as a result of Gary's guidance and inspiration.
Gary retired more than once from BonaKemi USA, which he founded. He later became a consultant for U-Floor from Germany and retired once again in 2012.
Gary enjoyed playing golf, traveling and being together with friends, especially with Leanne. Theirs was a story of fun, adventure, love and respect.
Gary Reynolds lived an exceptional life to the very fullest. His passing will leave a void in the lives of everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Memorial service will be held at Elim Reformed Church, Kings, Ill. on May 3 at 10:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Gary's name to the Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund (13001 N. Fountain Hills Blvd., Fountain Hills, AZ 85268) or to Hospice of the Valley (16117 N. 76th St., Scottsdale, AZ 85260).
