Rochelle

Geneva E. Brune, 83, of Rochelle, passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at the Rochelle Community Hospital. She was born September 22, 1939, in Reading, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Calvin and Geneva (Heister) Staudt. She married Carl H. Brune on March 17, 1962. He preceded her in death on February 13, 2019.

Geneva is survived by four daughters: Carol (Ole) Winterton of Rochelle, IL,  Betzy (Craig) Janssen of St. Charles, IL, Caryn (Ty) Goss of Pekin, IL, and Carlyn Brune of Chattanooga, TN; six grandchildren: Eric (MacKenna) Winterton, Ryan (Jasmine) Winterton, Marcus and Trevor Janssen, and Taylor and Luke Goss; one great-grandchild, Henry Winterton; and three siblings: Calvin (Shirley) Staudt, Curtis (Joan) Staudt, and Sandy Yost.

In addition to her parents and husband, Geneva is preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth and Bryan Staudt.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at Faith Lutheran Church in Rochelle with Pastor Joy Alsop officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service Tuesday at the church.
