Genevieve Catherine Majeski was born on September 17, 1932 in Bad Axe, Michigan to Leo and Laura (Wrubel) Kulish. She grew up in Ubly, Michigan along side her older brother, Lee, and younger sister, Elonore.

Gen married Eugene Majeski on October 6, 1951 in Bad Axe, Michigan. They shared 61 loving years together before his death in 2012. Together they owned and operated G & G Market in Ubly, Michigan until moving their family to Port Huron, Michigan. They resided in Port Huron until 1988 when they moved to San Diego, California following her husband's retirement. In 2020, she returned to live in the Midwest.
