Genoveva C. Anaya, age 92, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at the Franklin Grove Nursing Home.  She was born on September 30, 1932 in Balmorhea, TX, the daughter of Urbano and Isabel (Garcia) Carrasco.  Over her many years, she enjoyed dancing, singing and listening to music. She was often found reading her Bible or cooking for her large family.  Genoveva truly loved her time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her two sons: Miguel Anaya, 19 months old and stillborn baby Anaya, four brothers, two sisters, and son-in-law, Juan Arredondo.

Genoveva is survived by her ten children: Nestor (Cheryl) Anaya, Juana (Michael) Strom, Ismael (Polonia) Anaya, Raul Anaya, Celia Arredondo, Anita LaTorre, Alfredo Anaya, Micaela (Rene) Melara, Pedro Jr. (Caryn) Anaya and Manuel Anaya; 45 grandchildren:

She will be greatly missed.

The visitation will be from 5:00 - 6:00 P.M., Friday, February 21, 2025 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N 6th St., Rochelle.  The funeral service will follow at 6:00 P.M. on Friday. Cremation rites will follow the service.  Visit www.ungerhorner.com to sign the online guest book.
