George "Tony" Brett Heal, age 92, passed away in his sleep at his home in Sycamore, IL on July 5, 2022. Tony was born on the family farm December 6, 1929 in Malta, IL, the son of George and Jesse "Marie" (Stocking) Heal. During his years at Malta High, he was a member of FFA and was on a 4-H baseball league. On June 29, 1956, he married Beverly Ann McGrew in Shabbona, IL.
Tony farmed the same farm as his father and uncle for many years. He also served on the Creston School Board, was the sexton of Woodlawn Cemetery for several years and was a life time election judge. Tony was a driver for Sparks Automotive for 20 years, janitor at the Creston Grade School and worked in maintenance at Kishwaukee College. He enjoyed his time bowling on the First National Bank of Malta's bowling team. Most importantly, Tony loved the Lord and found his faith in living daily for Him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Gerald, Robert and William Heal, and one sister: Dorothy Wonser.
Tony is survived by his wife of 66 years, Beverly Heal; two sons: George "Brett" (Staci) Heal, Jr. of South Beloit, IL and Brian Heal of Sycamore; two grandchildren: Grace (Tyler) Cortez and Rachel Heal; great granddaughter, Arabella Grace Cortez; sister, Ruth Bodda of DeKalb; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 10:00 - 11:00 A.M., Saturday, July 9, 2022 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 with Pastor Dave Rogula officiating. Burial is at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Creston, IL. A memorial has been established. Guest book at www.UngerHorner.com.
