Rochelle

George Earl Holloway, age 87, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2025 at Manor Court Nursing Home in Rochelle with his family by his side.  He was born on July 4, 1937 in Bluford, IL, the son of Jewell and Marion (Eckhardt) Holloway.  George attended Rochelle Township High School and retired in 1992 from DelMonte Plant 115 in Rochelle. He enjoyed camping, boating, fishing and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Ronald and Loyd Holloway; two sisters: Jean Smith and Virginia Good; three brothers-in-law: John Smith, Orville Good and Ted Everest; two sisters-in-law: Suzanne Holloway and Norma Holloway; two nephews: Bryan Holloway and Greg Crisp; two great nieces: Tricia Lodico and Jodi Pifer; one step niece, Beth Everest and one step nephew, Johnnie Smith.

George is survived by his brother, Richard Holloway of Hiawatha, KS; two sisters: Judy Everest and Dixie (Ronald) Crisp both of Rochelle; sister-in-law, Carrie Holloway of Dixon; nine nieces: Jean (Carroll) Cordes of Rochelle, Kathy (Bill) Pifer of Rogers, AR, Diane White of Rockford, IL, Connie (Greg) Cavanaugh, Cindy Wiseman both of Dixon, Kim (Mike) Barker of DeKalb, IL Angela Courtney of Kansas City, MO, Heidi (Larry) Balderidge of Cave Springs, AR, and Debbie Gordon of South Elgin, IL; three nephews: Orville (Linda) Good, Jr. of Rochelle, Rick (Deb) Holloway of Byron, IL and William (Cindy) Holloway of Leaf River, IL and many great and great great nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, February 8, 2025 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N 6th St., Rochelle with Rev.
