George B. Joskoskie, age 78, of Rochelle, died on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at the St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford. He was born on November 29, 1932 in Rochelle, IL, the son of Andrew and Helen Sanders Joskoskie. George Graduated from Stillman Valley High School, served in the US Army, and worked for over 50 years at the Rochelle Vault Company. He Married Charlene Montgomery on May 29, 1956 in Rochelle. Preceded in death by his Mother: Helen Sanders, Father: Andrew Joskoskie; step father: Ernest Sanders; brother Andrew "Gene" Joskoskie; grandson: Kyle Patrick Joskoskie; sister: Edythe Marylin Joskoskie; and a niece: Carol Ann Joskoskie.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Charlene Joskoskie; his son: Rob (Anna) Joskoskie of SC; 2 granddaughters: Kori (Nick) Russell, and Kari Joskoskie both of SC; brother-in-law: Tom (Kay) Montgomery of AR; sister-in-law: Emma (Ivan) Sexton of AR; and several nephews and nieces including: Susan (Ed) Goral of Rockford.

Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at the Unger Horner Funeral Home, 400 N 6th St., Rochelle with the Rev. Dr. Munn Hinds officiating. Visitation will be prior to funeral on Saturday from 11- 1 pm. Burial will be at the Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle with a Military Service provided by the V.F.W. Post 3878.
