George W. Schmidt, 93, passed away Friday, August 23, 2024 at Manor Court in Rochelle, IL. George was born on June 23, 1931 to George and Louise Schmidt in Chicago, IL.

In addition to his parents, George is preceded in death by his first wife Jean, second wife Judy,
sister, Louise Andreas and his grandson, Bryan Campbell.

George is survived by his five children: Greg Schmidt, Gayle Campbell, Geri Schmidt, Glenn
Schmidt and Gary (Holly) Schmidt; grandchildren: Brett Campbell, Brooke Schmidt, Joey
Johanning, Greg and Matt Schmidt, Kevin, Shannon and Allison Schmidt, four step grandchildren
including Stevie and Ashley Carter, and nine great grandchildren.

George served in the Naval Air Reserve for eight years. After his marriage to Jean, he built his
home and moved his family to Addison, IL in 1959 to raise his children there. Employed by
Blinderman Construction for a major portion of his adult life, he retired and moved to Rochelle,
IL when he purchased Chelle-Crest Family Bowl, which was a life-long dream of his.

Celebration of Life will be held at Harvest Baptist Church, 241 Scott Ave, Rochelle, IL on
