Gerald "Jerry" Reeser, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2021 on his 81st birthday at the Liberty Village in Rochelle. Jerry was born February 25, 1940 to Charles and Geraldine (McCoy) Reeser. He married MaryLou Gehant on May 18, 1963 in West Brooklyn, IL, she preceded him in death on February 5, 2020. Jerry was drafted by the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War. He retired from DelMonte at 50, after retiring he then worked at Grennan Meats and volunteered at St. Patrick Catholic Church filling many different roles.

Jerry loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. While family and friends enjoyed their time by the pool, he was known to cook a Headon's pork chop or two. Vacationing with MaryLou for several years at Marco Island was always a highlight for both of them. He loved his Chicago teams, the Bears and the Cubs.

In addition to his parents, Jerry is preceded in death by his brother, Dan Reeser.

Jerry is survived by his two children: Mark (Denise) Reeser of Rockford, IL and Margaret (David) Lundquist of Loves Park, IL; brother, Pat (Kathy) Reeser of Hedgesville, WV; sister, Teresa (Mark) Lane of Earlville, IL; sister-in-law, Karen Reeser of Oregon, IL and four grandchildren: Hayley and Nolen Reeser and Cameron and Mary-Margaret Lundquist.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Serenity Hospice and Home especially Katie, and Liberty Village and the extraordinary care given by Ami, Jackie and Lanet.

Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, March 1, 2021 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 236 Kelley Drive, Rochelle with Father Jesus Dominguez officiating. Burial will be at St. Patrick Cemetery in Rochelle with military honors provided by the Eastern Lee-Ogle Honor Guard.
