Gertrude Ann Hagemeyer, age 85 of Esmond, IL, passed away at her home on Saturday, March 22, 2008. She was born on Dec. 11, 1922 in Winnebago Co., IL, the daughter of Walter and
Cecelia Gertrude (Horan) Zimmer. She married Leslie Hagemeyer on Sept. 2, 1942 in Davis Junction, IL. He preceded her on May 30, 2002. She was also preceded by a son Keith Myles Hagemeyer and 6 siblings: Earl, Harold, Cletus, Marian, Paul and Lloyd.

Gertrude graduated from Stillman Valley High School and attended DeKalb College in music. She was a piano teacher for most of her life and had previously been the organist and choir director at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Davis Junction.

Survivors include 3 sons: Earl (Bonnie) Hagemeyer of Esmond, IL, Roland (Erlinda)
Hagemeyer of Rochelle, IL and Lawrence (Chyrell) Hagemeyer of Montgomery, IL; 4 daughters:
including Joan Marie (Ron) Hawk of St. Petersburg, FL; 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Services will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Rochelle on Thursday, March 27th at 10:00 AM with Rev. David Peck. Visitation will be on Wednesday March 26th from 4 to 7 PM at Unger-Horner Funeral Home in Rochelle. Memorials can be made to St. Patrick Church, or Ogle County Hospice. Burial will be at Monroe Center Cemetery. The family would like to thank Ogle County Hospice for their tender care, and Father David Peck.
