Gladys D. Barnes, 96, passed away Saturday, December 19, 2020 at her daughter's home in Loves Park, IL. Gladys was born on June 23, 1924 to John and Pearl (Kite) Bowman in Hawkins County, Tennessee. On March 1, 1945, she married James Cecil Barnes in Bulls Gap, Tennessee. She worked for Caron Spinning Co. for many years, retiring in 1987.

In addition to her parents and siblings, Gladys is preceded in death by her husband, James, on September 16, 1976; by infant daughter, Patricia on June 26, 1950; two sons: Albert and Tony on September 16, 1965; daughter, Janet Taylor on September 14, 2018 and granddaughter, Jennifer L. Underhill on July 23, 2018.

Gladys is survived by two sons: J.C. Barnes of Bulls Gap, TN and Kenneth Barnes of Rochelle, IL; two daughters: Beth (Rex) Johnson of Mountain Grove, MO and Elaine (Ron) Hamilton of Loves Park, IL; eight grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
