Harold O. Baker, 100, of Rockford, passed away on Monday, Aug. 30, 2010 at P. A. Peterson Center for Health in Rockford, IL. He was born on Nov. 17, 1909 in Woosung, IL to Isaac and Cora (Reynolds) Baker. Harold married Leila W. Hoffman on Feb. 10, 1934 in Monroe Center, IL and they celebrated 72 years of marriage together. She preceded him on March 24, 2006. He was also preceded by his parents, 4 brothers and l sister.
Harold farmed for 40 years and was a member of the Federal Land Bank Association. Also, he was a real estate broker for 30 years. Member of Immanual Lutheran Church in Lindenwood, IL. No one was a stranger to him as he loved to carry on a conversation.
Survivors include sons: Lawrence (Joanne) Baker of Rockford and Dennis (Dorothy) Baker of
LaFayette, IN; sister: Helen Griffith of Dixon, IL; 5 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff at P.A. Peterson, Dr. Werckle and Hospice Care of America for the excellent care given to Harold.
Services will be held on Friday, Sept. 3, 2010 at 11:00 AM in Immanuel Lutheran Church, 16060 E. Lindenwood Road in Lindenwood with Rev. David Yarrington officiating. Visitation
from 10 AM until 10:50 AM at the church on Friday. Burial will be at Monroe Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers: Memorials to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
