Rochelle

Hattie Thompson, 85, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2020, at her daughter's home with her family at her side. She was born April 8, 1935 in Chicago, the daughter of Junius and Minnie (Rosenberg) Risner.

Hattie enjoyed her eight years living in Rochelle at the Lincoln Manor. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her quick wit and sense of humor will be greatly missed.

Hattie is survived by her children, Debra (Steven) Cash, Diane Wegener, and David Thompson; grandchildren, Kiley (Adam) Rahe, Amy Jo (A.J.) Glaza, Maddy (Evan White) Spangler, Julia (John) Cox, Nicole (Corey) Dillard, Justin Thompson, Danielle Cash, and Justin Spangler; great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life, Sienna, Lucy, Anna, Natalie, Elizabeth, Peter, Josie, Ryan, Kendra, Aaron, Bryce, Cooper, Evelynn, Cody, and Julian; and one brother, Charles Risner.

Hattie is preceded in death by her parents; one sister; two brothers, and a son-in-law, Joe Wegener.

The family would like to thank OSF Hospital and Hospice, as well as Rochelle Community Hospital, for all of the care they gave Hattie.

A private family celebration of Hattie's life will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2020. Contributions in her memory may be directed to Lincoln Manor in Rochelle.
