Obituary

Hazel A. Alfano, 69, of Rochelle, passed away on Friday, May 2, 2008 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born on January 5, 1939 in Rochelle, the daughter of Victor and Fern (Burkett) Thomas. Hazel was employed by G. E. in DeKalb, retiring in 2001 and was a member
of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Preceding her in death were her parents and a sister: Doris Binger.

Survivors include her life long companion: James Middleton, Sr. of Rochelle; son: Doug (Connie) Wood of Kings, and 2 daughters: Cathy (James) Watson of Dixon, and Julie (Bill) Fox of Rochelle, chosen son: James Middleton, Jr., and 2 sisters: Alice Myers of Rochelle and Barbara Schroeder of Scottsdale, AZ; 2 brothers: James Thomas of Rochelle and Tommie (Betty) Thomas of Sandwich; 5 grandchildren: Tara (Michael) Mims Jr., Anthony (Brittney Keilman) Wyatt, Jennie (Erin Henrikson) Wyatt, Nicholas (Heather) Wood and Alissa Fox; 2 great grandchildren: Kennedy and Cole Henrikson; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Rochelle, on Monday, May 5th, 2008 at 10:30 AM
with Rev. William Kucenski officiating. Visitation will be at Unger-Horner Funeral Home on Sunday, May 4th from 4 to 7 PM. Burial will be at Trinity Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to American Cancer Society or to Ogle County Hospice.
