Obituary
Hazel A. Olson, 94,formerly of Rochelle, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 11, 2011 at Franklin Grove Nursing Home. She was born on Feb. 22, 1917 in Steward, IL to Lewis D and Zulemma (Byrd)
Pettenger. Hazel was one of ten children raised on a farm and attended a one room school house in nearby Scarboro, IL. On March 9, 1942, Hazel married Stanley A. Olson in Rochelle, IL. She worked at Caron Spinning in her early years and was a housewife who loved her garden, canning vegetables and visiting her friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Stanley on Sept. 17, 2001; daughter: Sandra Olson Bostelman in 2009; brothers: Warren, Lyle and Ansel Pettenger; and 3 sisters: Violet Miller, Margaret Otterbach and Edna Young.
Survivors include her children: Georgia (Donald) Dillon of Princeton, IN, Edward (Barb)
Olson of Oceanside,CA and David (Barbara) Olson of Germantown, TN; 10 grandchildren
and seven great grandchildren.
Hazel will be buried alongside her husband at Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle, IL with
graveside services conducted by Unger-Horner Funeral Home.
