HELEN DELORES "DEE" CIPOLLA


Helen Delores "Dee" Cipolla, 87, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 7, 2016 at her residence in Tucson, Arizona.
Dee was born July 12, 1928 to Perry Dillon and Nancy Lucille (Sholders) King in Oblong, Illinois. She married Bill Cipolla on February 18, 1950 in Rochelle. He preceded her in death on January 4, 2013.

Dee moved from Oblong, IL to Rochelle as a freshman at Rochelle Township High School and graduated RTHS in 1946. Later, she married the boy next door, Bill Cipolla, and together they raised 5 children. Dee was a homemaker who devoted her life to her husband and her children and was happiest when she was with family. She had a lifelong love of puzzles, particularly crossword puzzles, and was beloved for her homemade lasagna, her Christmas cookies and Easter cakes. On March 25, 1989 she became a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.
Dee is predeceased by her half brother, Lyle Riddell. She is survived by three daughters: Deena (Rick) Guptil of Bella Vista, AR, Debra (Ralph, deceased) Rodriguez and Denise Cipolla, both of Tucson, AZ; two sons: William (Bonnie) Cipolla of Los Angeles, CA and Anthony (Karen) Cipolla of Pismo Beach, CA; her brother, Earl Deane (Victoria) King of Wisconsin; half sister, Patricia (Dave) Hector of Billings, MT; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

The visitation will be Sunday, March 20 from 2 to 4 P.M. at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. Funeral mass will be at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, March 21, 2016 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 236 Kelley Drive, Rochelle with Father Johnson Lopez officiating. Burial will follow the service at St. Patrick Cemetery in Rochelle. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association,www.alz.org/donate.
