Helen Wyone Lang, 84, of Rochelle, IL, passed away Friday, September 14, 2018 at the Presence Saint Anne Center in Rockford surrounded by her family following a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Helen was born November 20, 1933 in Lee, IL the daughter and youngest child of William and Mayme (Cardot) Parsley. She graduated from Steward High School in 1951, and thereafter married Clarence "Pat" Lang on August 2, 1952. She missed her beloved husband every day since he departed this earth on January 17, 2015.

Helen loved music, and gave piano and organ lessons to many young aspiring musicians. Also for many years, she played the organ at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. She was creative and loved cooking, baking, knitting, sewing, gardening and anything involving her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other family. She was busy in retirement after her 24-year career managing the Del Monte Midwest Federal Employees Credit Union in Rochelle.

In addition to Pat, Helen is preceded in death by one son, Stephen W. Lang on February 15, 2011; her brothers: Edgar, Bernard and Harold Parsley; her sister, Lucille Svela; and two infant siblings. Helen is survived by sons: Jeff (Nancy) Lang of Geneseo, IL and Doyle Lang of Chandler, AZ; and daughter, Mari (Mike) Ward of Poplar Grove, IL. But the true joy and pride of her life were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including grandchildren: Melanie (Jeff) Riemann of San Diego, CA and their girls: Wyatt, Lark and Harriet "Etta"; Jonathon Lang of Tampa, FL, Jason Ward of Chicago, IL, Jessica (Shane) Lansford of Monroe Center, IL and their son, Oliver "Ollie"; Alex (Anita) Lang of Chicago, IL, Julianne Ward of Sycamore, IL and Colby Lang of Davenport, IA. Helen is also survived by brother-in-law, Dale Svela and sisters-in-law: Elizabeth Parsley, Betty Parsley and Carol Parsley; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 21, 2018 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Rochelle. Visitation will be Thursday, September 20, from 4-7 p.m at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6 ^th Street in Rochelle.
