Henrietta Bassler, age 101, passed away on November 13, 2008 at the Sunrise Fair Oaks facility in Fairfax, VA. She was born on March 4, 1907 in Leavenworth, KS, the daughter of Henry and Minnie Zilke Conrad. She married George Bassler in 1938 in Kansas City Kansas, he preceded her in death in 1963. Henrietta taught first in Kansas City, KS then at the Rochelle Township High School from 1957 to 1980. Preceded in death by her parents, brother: Harry Conrad, 2 sisters: Elizabeth Dorn, and Rosie Metzler.

Survivors include her daughter Nancy Sue (Martin) Mayer of Fairfax, VA
sister: Marjorie Arnold of Vista, CA
granddaughter: Jennifer (Vova) Ekhilevsky
2 great grandchildren: Jack Martin Ekhilevsky and Madelyn Rose Ekhilevsky

Funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at the First Presbyterian Church, Rochelle with the Rev. Dr. John Hamilton officiating.

Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 Wednesday prior to the funeral.

Burial in the Lawnridge Cemetery
