Henry J. Auchstetter, 80, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at St. Anthony's Hospital in Rockford, IL. Henry was born August 10, 1936 to William O. and Helen S. (Rother) Auchstetter in Mendota, IL. He served with the U.S. Army. He graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Agricultural Engineering. Henry worked for Del Monte Foods as an engineer for many years. After retiring from Del Monte, he worked at Ace Hardware in Rochelle for several more years. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Rochelle and an active member of the choir. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Lois Dorfschmidt.

Henry is survived by three sisters: Verna Auchstetter, Mary Julene Auchstetter both of Peru and Rosann Auchstetter (Robert) Beeman of Coral Springs, FL; brother-in-law, Russ Dorfschmidt of Merrimack, NH; his dear friend, Colette Lima and nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be held from 9:30 - 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, January 3, 2016 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 207 Kelley Drive, Rochelle.
