Iola H. Droege, age 78, of Ashton passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at the Rochelle Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on May 10, 1931 in Dixon, IL the daughter of Henry and Anna (Schanenberg) Pfeiffer. She married Elmer Droege on November 5, 1951, at the Reynolds United Methodist Church, Ashton and he preceded her on May 17, 1987. She was also preceded by her parents; brother: Vance, and Sister: Bernice Gehant. Iola was a member of the Reynolds United Methodist Church.

Survivors include son: Lloyd Droege of Rochelle, IL: daughters: Marilyn (David) Balch of Ashton, and Betty Droege of Rochelle; brother: Vernon Pfeiffer of Rochelle;
grandchildren: Stacy, and Eric Droege; Brenda, Robert, Thomas (Amanda) and Mark Bramel; Tina (Brian) Ketter and Brian (Krissy) Balch; 3 great grandchildren: Alec, Allyse and Owen Ketter.

Services at Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle, on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Alan Meyer officiating. Visitation at Unger-Horner on Friday, Dec. 11th from 5 to 8 PM. Burial at Trinity Memory Gardens. Memorials to Reynolds United Methodist Church or to Ashton Rescue Squad.
