Irene L. Lawson, 95 of Ashton, IL, passed away Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010 at KSB Hospital in Dixon, IL. She was born on March 8, 1915 in Ashton, IL; to Adam Benjamin and Mary Elizabeth (Sandrock) Pfeiffer. Irene was born and lived on a farm all her life. She had many places of
employment over the years and took pride in her work. She was a loving Mother, Grand Mother and Great Grand Mother, setting an example for all. Her family brought her great joy and she was proud of them all. Irene was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Ashton where she enjoyed serving many years as chairman of the Altar Guild and Funeral Dinners Committee. Preceding her in death were 3 brothers: Glenn, Kenneth and Wayne Pfeiffer and a sister: Helen Bunger.
Survivors include a son: Ronald (Laurel) Lawson of Galena, IL; daughters: Ruth (Lyle) Allen of
Ashton and Phyllis (Brad) Streed of Rockford; sister: June Eich of Franklin Grove, IL; grandchildren: Lisa (Terry) McGoldrick, Jill (Mark) Fussner, Susan (Dan) Currens, Rachel (Randy) Ray and Luke (Susan) Lawson; great grand children: Hannah, Nathan, Ryan, Wade, Jack, Joe, Kayla, Emily, Betsy, and Owen; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at the St. John's Lutheran Church in Ashton with Rev. Jonathan Black
on Thursday, Oct. 7, 2010 at 10:30 AM. Visitation at Unger-Horner Funeral Home in Rochelle on Wed. 5 to 8 PM and also on Thursday from 9:15 to 10:15 at the church prior to the funeral
service. Burial at Ashton Cemetery. Memorials to St. John's Lutheran Church or to Honor Flight
