Jacqueline L. (Thorne) Woodruff, 53, of Apex, NC, formerly of Verona, WI, passed away Friday, March 12, 2021. She was born July 2, 1966 in Rockford, the daughter of Jack L. and Nancy (Horton) Thorne. She married Ronald Lee Woodruff on September 25, 2020.

Jackie attended Northern Illinois University and graduated from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale with a degree in finance. She worked as a compliance officer in the financial industry her entire career. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially hiking and biking with her husband. She was a very athletic person who enjoyed walking, jogging, and sports, especially softball. She was recently learning how to golf. In addition to being an avid Cubs fan, Jackie was a baseball mom, traveling all over to take her son to games and practices. She was a devout Christian. She was kind and generous with a smile on her face that lit up any room she entered. She loved being with family and was the one planning all of the family holidays.

Jackie is survived by her husband, Ron Woodruff of Apex, NC; a son, Darian Karamzadeh of Madison, WI; her parents, Jack and Nancy Thorne of Madison, WI; three siblings, Randall (Janette) Brink of Madison, WI, Linda (Joseph) Wallis of Rockford, and Lisa (Michael) Stivers; three nephews; and two nieces.

Public visitation will be Sat. April 10th from 10:00-11:00 A.M. at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home in Rochelle.

A private family service will follow the visitation at the funeral home. Cremation care will be provided after the services and interment of cremated remains will take place in Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle at a later date. Please visit www.ungerhorner.com to sign the online guest book.
