James I. Copeland, 70, of Sterling, IL, passed away at his home on Wed., Dec. 10, 2008.
He was born on June 8, 1938 in Nettleton, MS, the son of Isom Randolph and Etna (Montgomery) Copeland. Jim married Juanita L. Chambers on July 20, 1957 in Hernando, MS.
Prior to retiring, he was employed by Silgan and was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose in Rochelle. Preceding him were his parents and 2 sisters: Dorothy Schuler and Martha Jane Heck.
Survivors include his wife: Juanita of Sterling; 4 sons: James Kevin Copeland of LaSalle, IL,
Allen Ray Copeland of Sparks, NV, David Isom Copeland of Kirkland, IL and Michael Lee
Copeland of Rochelle; a daughter: Susan Diane Mickley of Kissimmee, FL; brother: John (Joan)
A. Copeland of Bolivar, TN; sister: Nel (Dennis) Swinton of Rochelle; 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Services will be held at Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle; on Monday, Dec. 15, 2008 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Brett Todd. Visitation will be at Unger-Horner on Sunday, Dec. 14th from 2 to 4 PM. Burial at Trinity Memory Gardens. Memorials to American Cancer
Society or to the Alzheimer Disease and Related Disorders.
