Rochelle

James Frederick Dale, Jr., 88, passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, Illinois. Jimmy was born on August 25, 1934 to James F. and Nellie (Allen) Dale in Rochelle, IL. He proudly served with the United States Army from 1952 to 1957 during the Korean War. On November 7, 1958, he married Reiko Saito in Japan. Jimmy worked as the custodian at the Central Annex and then at Lincoln School. After that, he worked in the maintenance department for many years at the Rochelle Community Hospital.

Jimmy is survived by his daughter, Susan Ann (Robert) Messer of Rochelle and his son, William (Glenda) Dale of Kansas City, MO; sister: Doris (John) Brinker of North Carolina and five grandchildren: Shannon (Adrian) Montelongo, Paul (Heather) Helser, Chris Messer, Jeffrey Dale and Steven Dale and many great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his wife, Reiko, on January 30, 2007, and brother, Chuck; sister, Betty Rocha and half brother, Sigfred Johnson, Jr.
