Creston
James R. Davey, 91, passed away Friday, January 10, 2014 at his home. Jim was born October 24, 1922 to John and Genevieve (Scofield) Davey in Chicago, IL. He graduated from Rochelle Township High School in 1940. He married Verla Mae Sampson on April 15, 1944 in Creston. Jim was a lifelong farmer in the Creston area. He was also a member of the Masons Horicon Lodge 244.
Jim is survived by his son, Dennis Davey of Creston, IL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Verla on April 3, 2010.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, January 13, 2014 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. The visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M., Sunday, January 12, 2014 at the funeral home with the Mason service at 4:00. Burial is at Woodlawn Cemetery in Creston. A memorial has been established.
