James T. Melvin, 60, passed away Friday, March 27, 2015 in Proviso Township, Illinois. Jim was born May 18, 1954 in Asheville, North Carolina to John and Carol (Blich) Melvin. He married Teresa Lynn Kendall on February 1, 1975 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Jim was plant manager of Cedar Siding for several years.
Jim is survived by his wife, Teresa, two sons: Nate (Brittany Carlson) Melvin of Rochelle and Joshua Melvin of DeKalb; two daughters: Jessica (Garrett) Galbreath of Lee and Jennifer (Chris) Damask of Lee; two sisters: Judy (Ed) Lyles of Arizona and Patircia (Patrick) Piscani of Colorado; four grandchildren: Dylan Carlson, Lila Demask, Alia and Addilynn Galbreath.
The funeral service will be 11:00 A.M., Friday, April 3, 2015 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle, with Chaplain Judy Williams officiating. The visitation will be from 9:00 - 10:45 A.M., Friday before the funeral service. Cremation rites will follow the service.
