Rochelle

James C. Thomas, 77, passed away Monday, April 21, 2014 at the Rochelle Community Hospital. Jim was born June 18, 1936 to Victor and Fern (Burkett) Thomas in Rochelle. He worked for Roy's Transfer in Rochelle for many years, retiring in 2002. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters: Hazel Alfano and Doris Binger.

Jim is survived by three sons: John Thomas of Rochelle, Ken (Paulette) Thomas of Ashton and Curt (Laura) Thomas of Rochelle; a half brother, Tom (Betty) Thomas of Sandwich, IL, two sisters: Alice Myers of Rochelle and Barb Schroeder of Scottsdale, AZ; four grandchildren: Andy (Wendy) Thomas, Jessica, Kaylin and Jayme Thomas and two great-grandchildren: Alanna and Cameron Thomas.

Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M., Friday, April 25, 2014 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6 ^th St., Rochelle. The visitation will be from 9:00 - 10:45 A.M. the same day as the funeral service. Burial will follow at Trinity Memory Gardens in Rochelle. Memorials may be made to the VFW Women's Auxillary.
