James E. Timm, 80, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon, IL with his family by his side. Jim was born February 10, 1938 to Clarence and Harriet (Onan) Timm in Wisconsin Rapids, WI. He was a great salesman and loved the opportunity his job gave him to meet new people and make those personal connections. Jim was a very kind person who never knew a stranger. In 1980, Jim was a founding member of the Flagg Center Fire Department and the very first Fire Chief. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by Trudie Timm and his two brothers: Harland and Nathan Timm.
Jim is survived by his wife, Helene of Rochelle; three daughters: Tami (the late John Helfrich) Rhea of Rochelle, Suann (Gary) Wells of Burlington, IA and Karen (Michael) Collins of Rochelle; two brothers: Gene (Marianne) Timm and Harris (Nancy) Timm both of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; seven grandchildren: Samuel Rhea, Raeanne (Jeff) Boyer, Ashley Danekas, Zachery Danekas, Nathan Kent Timm, Christopher Collins and Lindsey Collins; five great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law: Cathy and Linda Timm and many nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6 th St., Rochelle. There will be an additional visitation at 10:00 to 11:00 A.M., Thursday, March 1, 2018 at the First Baptist Church, 810 Woolf Ct., Rochelle with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Doug Cowan officiating.
