James (Billy) William DuBois, 85, Strasburg, ND, formerly of Genoa, IL passed away on August 7, 2013 at the Strasburg Care Center, Strasburg, ND.Billy was born in Memphis, Tennessee on November 2, 1927. He was raised and attended school in Cherry Valley, AR. He joined the U.S. Army in November of 1950 and was stationed in Texarkana, Texas. On September 4, 1953, Billy was united in marriage to Joy Fay Holt at the Rochelle Church of God in Rochelle, IL. Together they spent most of their lives in Genoa, IL. He retired from Chrysler in Belvidere, IL. He had a passion for playing his instruments for family and friends. Together they enjoyed spending time with their grandchildren and traveling in their motor home.
Left with fond memories are his daughters, Nola (Ray) Beswick of Muncie, IN, Connie (Keith) Fjeldheim of Herreid, SD and Cathy (Dan) Walker of Rockford, IL; his son, James E. DuBois of Rockford, IL; 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; his brother, Harold Ray (Elaine) DuBois of Lakeland, FL; sister-in-law, Lois Garner; brothers-in-law, Verlon (Clara) Holt and Vernest (Eva) Holt all of Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joy, son-in-law, David Svedin, sister, Mae DuBois and his parents, James E. and Essie Aila DuBois.
Funeral Services will be held at the Rochelle Church of God at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, August 14th, 2013, with Rev. Ken Holt officiating. Visitation will be one hour before service time at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be at Trinity Memory Gardens following the service.
