Janet Gabbard, age 67, passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2011 at the Serenity Home in Oregon. She was born on August 17, 1943 in Sterling, IL to William and Louise Alta (Dexter) Munz.
Janet married Franklin Gabbard on May 19, 1961 in Ashton, IL, he preceded her in death on October 20, 2008. Previously, she had been employed by Aigner's and Avery for almost 30 years until they closed, and Rochelle Printing. She loved spending time with her family, going to garage sales, cooking, cleaning, participating in the O.K. Club, collecting things and Elvis. The family would like to thank their special friends Carolyn and Jerry Elder and the Ogle County Hospice for their loving and attentive care.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Debora Roberts of Louisville, KY; and Kimberly Gabbard of Rochelle; son: Terry (Melissa) Gabbard of Rochelle; her mother: Louise Dexter of Monterey Park, CA; brother: Chuck Munz of DeKalb; step sisters: Dorothy Dexter and Cheryl Dexter, both
of Monterey Park, CA; 3 grandchildren: Kristen and Katelyn Gabbard and Brandyn Wilson and
her dog: Sadie.

Services at Unger-Horner Funeral Home in Rochelle, on Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011 at 1:30 PM with Rev. Greg Hoffmann. Visitation from 11:30 to 1:45 PM on Thursday, prior to the service at Unger-Horner. Burial at Trinity Memory Gardens. Memorials to Ogle County Hospice. Online
