Janet G. Taylor, 62, passed away peacefully Friday, September 14, 2018 at her daughter's home in Rochelle, IL. Janet was born on August 24, 1956 to James and Gladys (Bowman) Barnes in Mendota, IL. She married Donald Wayne Taylor on June 26, 2007 in Oregon, IL. Janet worked at the Rochelle Community Hospital for many years. After retiring in 2017, she enjoyed fishing, decorating, working in her yard and watching movies. She is preceded in death by her husband, Don; father, James; daughter, Jennifer Underhill; sister, Patricia Barnes; and two brothers: Tony and Albert Barnes.

Janet is survived by her daughter, Tonia Underhill; her mother, Gladys Barnes both of Rochelle; three step children: Shane Taylor of Sterling, IL, Deanna Taylor-Reynolds of Poplar Grove, IL and Megan (Patrick) Tegard of Roscoe, IL; four siblings: J.C. Barnes of Bulls Gap, TN, Beth "Marty" (Rex) Johnson of Mountain Grove, MO, Kenneth Barnes of Rochelle, and Elaine (Ron) Hamilton of Poplar Grove, IL; four grandchildren: Michael Turner, Desirae Turner, Alexis Pillian and Nicholas Pillian; great granddaughter, Jessilynn Mendez; eight step grandchildren: Dominque Taylor, Nick Allen, McKayla Taylor, Shane Taylor, Devon Reynolds, Gary Helfvogt, Jr., Ellisyn Tegard and Makenna Tegard; and three step great grandchildren: Wesley, Presten and Laka Taylor.

A memorial visitation will be held from 2:00 - 3:00 P.M., Friday, September 21, 2018 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. The memorial service will follow at 3:00 with Chaplain Judy Williams officiating. Memorials may be made in Janet's memory to the American Cancer Society.
