Jean Audrey Schmidt, 86, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away Thursday, December 7, 2017 at St. Anthony Hospital in Rockford, IL. Jean was born on April 17, 1931 to Ellsworth and Helen (Dostert) Ralls in Chicago, IL. Her childhood was spent in Chicago and she raised her children in Addison, IL. In the 1980s, she moved to Rochelle as a partner in the Chelle Crest Bowling Alley in Rochelle and all her children slowly relocated to this area. In addition to her parents, Jean is preceded in death by her brother, Richard Ralls.

Jean is survived by her five children: Greg Schmidt of Rochelle, Gayle Campbell of Rochelle, Geri (Jon Hyslop) Schmidt of Lakewood, Glenn Schmidt of Rochelle and Gary (Holly) Schmidt of Sycamore; her sister, Arlene Aiello; 10 grandchildren: Brett Campbell, Bryan (Asheri) Campbell, Brooke Juris, Joey (Jennifer) Johanning, Gregory (Allison) Schmidt, Matthew (Mandy) Schmidt, Kevin Schmidt, Shannon Schmidt, Allison Schmidt and Dirk Hyslop; and nine great grandchildren: Grayson, Gryffin, Braelee, McKenzy, Brevyn, Addylynn, Mackenzie, Ryan and Ryder.
