Jean M. Snyder, age 79, of Rochelle died peacefully on Friday, October 29, 2010 at the Pine Acres Care Center in DeKalb, IL. She was born on June 25, 1931 in Ottawa, IL, the daughter of Robert and Margaret Leonardo Elliott. She married Arthur W. Snyder on November 17, 1951 in Iowa City, Iowa. Jean retired from Eaton Corporation in 1996 after working there for 29 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, and the First Baptist Church Choir of Rochelle. Preceded in death by her parents, son: John Snyder, 2 grandchildren: Paul W. Snyder Jr. and Alison Marie Snyder, sister: Betty Brandner, and two brothers: John and Robert Elliott Jr.

Survivors include her husband: Arthur Snyder of DeKalb
and a son: Paul (Leslie) Snyder of Sycamore

Funeral service will be at 1:30 PM on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at the Unger Horner Funeral Home, 400 N 6th St. Rochelle with the Rev. Douglas Cowan officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 12:00 noon to 1:30 PM
