C. Jeanette Askeland, 97, of Rochelle, passed away on Friday, July 22, 2011 at Rochelle Rehabilitation Center in Rochelle. She was born on Feb. 19, 1914 in Ashton, IL to John and Kristi (Bru) Winterton. She graduated from Steward High School, in the first four year class, in 1931. Jeanette married Eneval M. Askeland on July 31, 1935 in Creston, IL and he preceded her on Jan. 29, 2000. Also preceding her in death were her parents; brother Tommy Winteron and sister: Ingie Cluts.

Survivors include son: Jerry (Linda) Askeland of Mt. Prospect, IL; daughter: Joanne (Doug)
Fisher of Rochelle; grandchildren: Tim (Sue) Askeland and Chris (Christine) Askeland and Lisa (Mark) Mansuetti; step grandson: Mike (Laura) Fisher; 4 great grandchildren: Kyle, Jenna, Claire and Cooper Askeland; 2 step great grandchildren: Daily and Isabel Fisher.

Services will be at Faith Lutheran Church on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Steve Dow. Visitation will be at Unger-Horner Funeral Home in Rochelle on Monday, July 25th
from 4 to 7 pm. Burial at Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle. Memorials to Faith Lutheran Church or to Ogle County Hospice.
