Jeffrey Scott Stein, 54, of Rochelle, IL, reached the end of a long and arduous journey on December 20, 2021, after being diagnosed with a brain tumor at the age of 21. Jeff was born on June 23, 1967 in Rochelle, IL to Duane and Linda (Ackland) Stein.

Jeff graduated from Rochelle Township High School in 1985 and went on to study at Kishwaukee College and Southern Illinois University.

Jeff loved watching football, especially his beloved Miami Dolphins, listening to the Grateful Dead, but most of all he cherished the time spent with his daughters, Cassidy and Caitlyn.

Survivors include daughters: Cassidy Calway-Stein of Seattle, WA, and Caitlyn Calway-Stein of Las Cruces, NM; parents, Duane and Linda Stein of Rochelle, IL; sisters: Terri (Fred) Kruglick of Flagstaff, AZ, Sue (Dave) Stenberg of Sycamore, IL; nephews: Adam Kruglick of Milwaukee, WI, Josh Kruglick of Phoenix, AZ and Derek Stenberg of Norman, OK.

A heartfelt thank you to the Franklin Grove Living and Rehabilitation Center and Serenity Hospice and Home for their diligent care.
