Jerry L. Ekes, 63, of Rochelle, passed away on Monday, March 29, 2010 at Serenity House
in Oregon, IL. He was born on Jan. 30, 1947 in Hattiesburg, MS, the son of Lonnie and Leona (Price) Ekes. Jerry married Diane R. Johnsen on March 30, 1977 in Wheaton, IL. He was a billing manager for Robert W. Hunt in Chicago, IL. Preceding him in death were his parents, brother: Lonnie Wayne Ekes; sister: Carolyn Yates and half sister: Betty Rogers.
Survivors include his wife: Diane of Rochelle; 2 daughters: Kimberly Ekes of Oskaloosa, IA
and Kristina Ekes of DeKalb, IL; 2 sisters: Glenda (Richard) Robinson of Barrington Hills, IL
and Minnie (Chris) Elkins of Rowlett, TX.
Family graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Ellisville, MS. Cremation rites were arranged by Unger-Horner Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers: Memorials can be made to Serenity House Ogle County Hospice P.O. 462, Oregon, IL 61061.
