Obituary

Jerry Allen Nantz, 75 of Rochelle, IL passed away Sunday September 23, 2012 at Saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, IL. Jerry was born June 11, 1937 in Carrollton, MO the son of Earl and Fay (Stanley) Nantz. He married Patricia Blalock June 7, 1958 in Hinsdale, IL. Jerry Served in the Navy for 2 years. In 1958 he received his Naval School Electricians Mate Class A Certificate, leading to his position as an electrician aboard submarines. Jerry was a life long member of the I.U.O.E. Local 150 and also owned and operated Nantz Electric for over 42 years. He was a supporter of the Rochelle Jr. Tackle organization, coaching his boys in Little League and daughter in softball and a huge supporter of the A.Y.S.O. Jerry was an avid bowler and he helped organize the Rochelle youth bowling program. He was a life long Moose member, and member of Rockin' Riders Horse Club. Jerry was a kind man with a huge heart, gentle soul, who thrived on the love of his family. He was unconditionally in love with his wife-soul mate for 54 years. Every minute he had was spent with his family. His family treasured him and he dedicated everything he had to them.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother: William Nantz; 1 sister: Barbara Bond; granddaughter: Kayla Faye Bouland.

Survivors include his wife Patricia Ann Nantz of Rochelle; 2 sons: Jimmie (Mel) Nantz and Jerry Jr. (Kerri) Nantz of Rochelle; 2 daughters: Jackie (Barry) Sanders and Cindy (Michael) Dailey of Rochelle; 10 grandchildren: Christopher Jones, Curt and Patti Dickson, Kyle Bouland, Emily Dailey, James (Candice ) Jackson, Nathan Nantz, Brodie, Torrin and Race Nantz; great grandchildren: Scarlett and Christina Jones, Kyler and Patrick Dickson, Jayden and Kazdyn Nantz and Maddex Jackson.

Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Friday Sep. 28 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday, Sep. 27 from 4-8 PM also at Unger-Horner. Memorial is to be established. Burial will be at Trinity Memory Gardens in Rochelle.
