Jerry Glenn Seebach, 78, passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 22, 2019 with family by his side. Jerry was born on September 1, 1941 to Robert and Evelyn (Ewald) Seebach in Rochelle. He grew up in the Flagg Center and Ashton areas and graduated from Ashton High School in 1959.

He joined the United States Army in April 1960 until April 1963 and was stationed in France from September 1960 to September 1962. Jerry worked for Flagg Township for 42 years from 1965 to 2007 and as Flagg Township Highway Commissioner from 1970 to 2007, when he retired.

Jerry was one of the first volunteers of the Flagg Center Fire Department in 1980 and served as Lieutenant, Captain, then Assistant Chief and Chief. He retired from Flagg Center Fire Department in 1995.

He married the love of his life, Christa, on July 4, 1998 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Rochelle.
Jerry loved his family dearly and always enjoyed going to athletic games and programs his children or grandchildren were in. He will be greatly missed by all his family, friends and also the family cat, Smokie.

Jerry was a dedicated Packer football fan and always answered his phone "Packer Headquarters".
He loved nature and gardening and was widely known for his sweet corn and pumpkins, which he grew for many years. He was especially proud that some of his sweet corn flew to Washington DC on a government airplane several years ago. He was a member of Flagg Center Church of God and was baptized there.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Christa "Christy", of Rochelle; three children: Michelle Eldred, Scott (Amy) Seebach, and Jeff Seebach all of Rochelle; three stepchildren: Brian Lane, Mitzi Adams both of Rochelle and Tammy Lane of Lindenwood, IL; brother, Warren (Beverly) Seebach of Ashton, IL; sister, Audrey Seebach of Rockford, IL; two step brothers: Donald (Debra) Vogeler of Osgood, IN and Ronald (Marcia) Vogeler of Roscoe, IL; three sisters-in-law: Judy Seebach, Susan Cagle both of Rochelle and Rosa Tannahill of Ocala, FL; five grandchildren: Hannah Eldred, Kyle, Allison, Ella, and Sienna Seebach; two step grandchildren: Devan and Brady Adams; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friend, Prosper Agbetrobu and family.

Preceded in death by his father, Robert Seebach, mother and step- father: Evelyn and Laurence B. "L.B." Vogeler, infant daughter, Jennifer; and his brother, Harvey Seebach.

Jerry's family wishes to thank Unity Hospice for the wonderful care he received from their nurses and staff the last months of his life.

The visitation will be from 2:00 to 5:00 P.M., Sunday, October 27, 2019 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle, IL. The funeral will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, October 28 at the funeral home with Chaplain Willie Little officiating. Burial will follow the service at Flagg Center Cemetery near Flagg Center, IL with military honors provided by the Eastern Lee-Ogle Honor Guard.
